By setting up a golf practice area in the backyard golfers will help their games out significantly. The best way to set it up is to split it up into different sections so that golfers can build onto the practice area as they please.
The golf mat is probably the most important part of the golf practice area if one would like to work on their swing in the backyard. There are two different options golfers have with a golf mat pending what they would like to hit.
1) If golfers prefer real balls they could use the golf mat and get a golf mat net to hit into so that the balls do not exit the backyard on a swing yet go far enough for golfers to predict the flight of the ball in the net.
2) If golfers prefer using limited flight balls, they can set up a target about 40 to 60 yards depending on how far your limited flight balls go. These balls do not go to far, but they give a realistic look at the flight of their shot.
The golf putting green is a more advanced step in the backyard golf practice area’s development. While it is an efficient and very useful practice tool, it takes up some space depending on how large golfers prefer it to be, and can be a costly addition to the practice area. With a golf putting green, however, golfers can enjoy the putting practice they will have in their backyard, and also can chip and pitch onto the green from surrounding rough to simulate real golf courses. Another great use for the putting green is to use it as a target for your shots off a golf mat with limited flight balls or wedge shots with real golf balls.
Secondary Mat
The secondary mat golfers have could just be a smaller version of the other golf mat they have or even the same size in a different position. The versatility of having two mats is great for many golfers because they can use one for driving or hitting with woods and irons, and can use the other to do the same in a different position in the backyard, or practice pitching or chipping onto a green with it.
All of these types of equipment together would provide golfers with a great backyard practice area, but to have successful practice many golfers find that any one of these is great to use if they do not have the space. With any of these training aids, or all of them together in a backyard, the practice had with the mats or putting green will reap great benefits for golfers.
